Kylie Rocks Hometown Melbourne

OUR AUSSIE SHOWGIRL, KYLIE MINOGUE has razzle dazzled her way back into the hearts of her Melbourne home town crowd with the $25 million dollar extravaganza - Aphrodite 'Les Folies' Tour 2011, coming to a colourful spectacular end. Over three sellout nights on June 14, 15 and 16 at Rod Laver Arena, Kylie proved to Melbourne and the Aussie nation that at the age of 43, still has what it takes by putting on the show of her life.

Having not toured Australia since 'X' Tour in 2008, Kylie Minogue again upstaged herself by making Aphrodite 'Les Folies' her most talked about tour - with most people suggesting this being the best ever they had seen Kylie perform. The show now moves on to Adelaide and then Perth before heading to Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines then dropping the curtain in Africa with shows at Sun City Superbowl in Johannesburg and Grand Arena at Grand West Casino in Cape Town.

Opening night in Melbourne was breathtaking, as Kylie appeared before the screaming crowd to open the show with the track Aphrodite. The show, which went for more than two hours, covered tracks from almost every one of Kylie's back catalogue. Tuesday night had Kylie ask the crowd for requests, after much crowd input, she chose - launching into an a Capella version of Hand On Your Heart. It was a step back in time to 1989. On Wednesday night, Kylie asked a young boy from Geelong up onto the stage.

To the crowds surprise and delight, the two performed the duet
a song made famous in 1988 by Kylie and Jason Donovan.

Semi naked clad gents and women in high stiletto's bounced around on stage to a lighting show that delivered Kylie in many forms. We saw costume change after costume change, with outfits shining under stage lights. The crowd were in awe of all the colour and energy that was coming to life on stage. Kylie, who sang I Believe In You, was pulled by hunky leather clad male slaves along the catwalk via a gold chariot.

Night two was amazing - the greatest show I have ever been part of, it was Kylie Minogue at her best. Viewed from the VIP Splash Zone, the experience was world-class. The Splash Zone, a special enclosed area within the stage made sure you were part of the action and were in prime position to get the best view in the arena.

When do you ever get the opportunity to see Kylie take to centre stage as well as be in the presence of sister Dannii Minogue, partner Kris Smith, baby Ethan and boyfriend Andres Velencoso. A few songs in, Aussie music guru Molly Meldrum joined us - the party was well and truly alive and I was in music heaven!

Not only was Dannii, Kris and Andres in the Splash Zone, but also many other members from Kylie Minogue's management, crew and team. Dancing and singing was the flavour of the night for the Minogues! Dannii took the time to greet a couple of fans, while Spanish model Andres hoisted Ethan aloft towards the stage to give the young boy a good look at his aunt. Ethan clapped whilst looking around at people in the Splash Zone then was quick to stand to attention when the crowd roared at the end of each song. Sporting earmuffs, Ethan seemed to be having the time of his life!
