Kylie Minogue will unveil two EPs next week to celebrate her North American ‘Aphrodite Live’ tour. ‘Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)’ and ‘Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love) – The Remixes’ will be released on June 7.
The first EP features the album version of the hit single of the same name, as well as a live version of the song from O2 Arena in London. The disc also includes a Pete Hammond remix, Basto’s Major Mayhem Edit and a brand new unreleased track called ‘Silence,’ which was co-written by Minogue and ‘Aphrodite’ producer Stuart Price.
The pop star’s second EP features five different remixes, including the Hands Up Extended Club Mix by Liv and Mim Nervo, aka NERVO, who co-wrote the song for Minogue. It also boasts the Pete Hammond Remix Edit, the song in the popular lyric video that Kylie posted on her YouTube channel as a thank you to her fans.
On May 3, the singer commemorated the beginning of her tour by releasing her ‘North American Tour Bonus Edition’ EP, which is comprised of five live recordings, as well as a short film featuring behind-the-scenes footage of Minogue, and original tour wardrobe sketches by Dolce & Gabbana.

Kylie arrives in California for incredible performances at the Hollywood Bowl, the first open-air venue on the Aphrodite Live Tour, and in San Francisco where costumed fans send welcome messages from the queue...
It's been just about ten years since Kylie Minogue released "Can't Get You Out of My Head," the monumental global hit that went on to become one of the inescapable dance tunes of the first decade of the century and reignited interest in the Australian pop star in the United States. One might assume, then, that when Minogue burst into a fast, rocked out version of the song Friday night at the Hollywood Bowl, it would have been the biggest hit of the night.
It wasn't. In fact, the song that followed "Can't Get You Out of My Head"-- "In My Arms," co-written and co-produced by Calvin Harris and featured on her 2007 album X-- that drew an even greater roar from the crowd.
With more than twenty years of music under her belt and a score of songs that fall under the love-on-the-dancefloor school of lyrics, Kylie Minogue is a bona fide dance pop goddess everywhere, Los Angeles included. This wasn't the sort of show where you sit around wait for that one song that everyone inside a large amphitheater knows. There was no single moment that would have stood out during the concert for everyone there. Instead, there was a general feeling that every song she performed and every costume change she made (there were a lot of those, we lost count) meant something to someone at the Bowl.
Below are the highlights of our night.
"Aphrodite"
Minogue, whose latest album and tour is titled Aphrodite, made an entrance fit for Mt. Olympus. As the tour intro played, images of well-built men underwater were projected on the backing screens and dancers in toga-styled outfits slowly filled the stage. Two women appeared in white gown on two large staircases. The title track off Minogue's latest album soon filled the amphitheater. We could hear Minogue, but couldn't see her until a golden shell arose from the center of the stage. There she was, looking every bit as we might imagine the ancient Greek goddess of love. She was quickly flanked by exceptionally good looking men who accompanied her on the journey down a third staircase.
And, did we mention that there were aerial performers too?
Yes, it was a spectacle. Some might call it ridiculous, and maybe it is, but if you're the sort of person who appreciates over-the-top performances and grand entrances, as I am, then it doesn't get much better than this.
"I Believe in You"
"I Believe in You" is Minogue's collaboration with members of the Scissor Sisters, which appeared on her 2004 singles collection Ultimate Kylie. It's a dreamy disco number that, unlike many of her songs, wasn't drastically altered for the live performance. Minogue appeared in a glittering, ethereal dress that recalled the white gown she wore in the opening of the "I Believe in You" video. In keeping with the Aphrodite theme, Minogue performed in a chariot led by several men as one walked behind and occasionally fanned her.
"Slow"
Taken from her 2003 album, Body Language, "Slow" hit as minimal techno was making waves at clubs. The original is a seductive and adventurous dance track that plays upon the spare grooves that were packing dance floors at the time. Live, though, Minogue turned it into a burlesque show-friendly jazz number. She was surrounded by corseted female dancers who maneuvered oversized, fanned feathers. Just as the audience thought the song had ended, Minogue purred a few lyrics into the microphone, the dancers removed their corsets and "Slow" very quickly morphed into an electro jam.
"There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart)"
The hot guys theme of Minogue's show peaked with her cover of the Eurythmics' hit "There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart)," when the singer, now wearing a gold minidress, appeared with a shirtless man wearing angel wings.
Minogue's cover was also one of the most rousing moments of the night, a big, soulful dance number that showcased her singing abilities. It was a song so powerful that it felt like it should have been the end of the concert. However, there was more, a lot more.
"The Loco-Motion"
Minogue doesn't shy away from playing her older material in concert and updated versions of songs like "Better the Devil You Know" went over really well with the crowd. But "The Loco-Motion," a cover song that became one of her earliest hits and her best known song in the U.S. until "Can't Get You Out of My Head" was an unexpected delight.
Towards the end of the show, Minogue had asked for requests from the crowd. It was "the power of mime," she said, that prompted her to play "The Loco-Motion." Judging from the enthusiastic response of the crowd, we're not the only ones who still have their cassette copies of her debut album.
"All the Lovers"
Minogue ended the show with a sci-fi Esther Williams encore that was perhaps even more outrageous than anything leading up this moment. For "On a Night Like This," from Light Years, footage of synchronized swimmers played behind the performers. Dancers were decked out in silver sequined robes and Minogue wore a beaded ensemble with her hair covered in what resembled a swim cap. But that was nothing compared to "All the Lovers."
Minogue drew from the video for her first single off Aphrodite for this rendition of the song, with dancers stripped down to flesh-colored basics either surrounding her or paired up for the final aerial routines and images of couples kissing playing in the background. A sweet synthpop number seemingly made for singing along with your friends in the car or club, "All the Lovers" is clearly the big hit off Aphrodite and the only fitting way to close the show. "All the Lovers" has the kind of hopeful and endearing quality you want to want to stay with you after your trying to get out of the Hollywood Bowl. We couldn't get the song out of our heads as we walked with the massive crowd towards the Hollywood Bowl shuttles. In fact, the melody is still stuck in our minds almost a week later. Undoubtedly, Kylie Minogue left the crowd on a high note and we'll be remembering this show for a long time.

Kylie Minogue finally brought her fabulous self to Dallas’ Verizon Theater this past Wednesday night, ready to show off her new road show to the thousands of gay men (and a few women) who had flocked to the venue.
Only her second trek through America, Kylie’s Aphrodite Live tour is an exercise in pop perfection, with a healthy dose of ancient Greek imagery fitting her latest album Aphrodite thrown in for good measure.
Ms. Minogue kicked off the show with the title track from Aphrodite, rising up from under the Greek parthenon stage. With hundreds of cameras flashing, Kylie appeared, standing inside of a giant clam shell. The song’s pounding bass got the entire crowd dancing, setting the tone for most of the night. With Kylie waltzing down the staircase moving ever closer to the general admission pit, the show got off to a great start.
After running through a beautiful rendition of The One, the insanely danceable Wow and a fiery rendition of Illusion, Kylie’s dancers (now in strange Greek-slave garb) rolled a chariot on stage. Kylie climbed on board and slowly made her way across the stage while performing a slower tempo version of I Believe In You. While she’s never been the greatest singer, Kylie sounded strong, and had no problems hitting the song’s higher notes and impressing the crowd.
A fairly unremarkable version of Cupid Boy was next, followed by a much more entertaining take on Spinning Around which garnered a huge response from the crowd. Now wearing a black dress, Kylie and her backup vocalists danced around the stage smiling ear-to-ear at the guys in the pit. She was positively excited to be there in Dallas, and the crowd ate it up.
Throughout the remainder of the night (and several costume changes), Kylie played most of her major hits and some deeper album cuts. Most of her older material had gone through some major changes. Slow was given a sexy jazz makeover, taking many in the crowd by surprise.
Perhaps Minogue’s most popular song, Can’t Get You Out of My Head went through drastic changes. Leaving behind most of the recognizable synth parts, Kylie’s guitarist took over the lead section and turned the track into what can only be categorized as groove-metal. During the choruses things were a little more standard, but it was nice to see Kylie changing up her songs a bit.
Love At First Sight became a mashup with Can’t Beat The Feeling, perhaps getting the biggest reaction of the night. The two tracks worked incredibly well together but the crowd had a bit of trouble keeping the lyrics straight.
Kylie’s dancers took a break while she did a solo take on Prefab Sprout’s If You Don’t Love Me. She had trouble getting through the track because some in the crowd felt pressured to tell her that they did, in fact love her. She took it like a pro, laughing and trying to get the crowd to calm down.
After a fantastic version of Better the Devil You Know, Kylie took a fan request from a group of guys in the front row and sang a stripped down version of the ultra-gay Your Disco Needs You. She’s typically only been playing snippets of the fan request songs at her shows, but Dallas got the full version of the track. Everyone in the crowd was singing along, but it was a bit strange to hear the track with only a keyboard and drums backing her up.
After a bit of banter with the crowd and a stripped down version of Better Than Today, Kylie’s dancers came back out in full force and ended the main set with Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love). Everyone in the crowd had their hands up, so what does that tell you? As the song came to a close and Kylie disappeared underneath the stage, the crowd immediately started begging for an encore.
Kylie was more than happy to oblige. Rising up on a three tiered platform on top of the stage, Kylie and her dancers powered through the fabulous On a Night Like This before taking on All the Lovers from last year’s album. During this final track, dancers slowly rose from the floor, suspended from the ceiling while still dancing along with the track. As Kylie and her dancers made their way close to the stage one final time, gold confetti rained down covering both the crowd and Kylie herself.
Appearing genuinely happy to have performed for the Dallas crowd, Kylie seemed on the verge of crying during the last round of incredibly loud applause. She thanked Dallas several times..."Dallas I Love You"
For some reason Kylie Minogue has never caught on in America like she has overseas, but for once we get the better deal. She’s brought over her entire show from Europe, making as few changes as possible. While her European tour featured a stage that had water fountains (!!), she has effectively moved an arena (and in some cases, stadium) sized show into much smaller theater sized venues here in the U.S.
As a result, these shows are much more intimate and make the entire audience feel like they are part of the show. This tour is almost over, but the next time Kylie is in America fans of pop need to be sure not to miss this spectacle.

We are getting two new editions of Kylie‘s Aphrodite album. That’s what’s happening.
We’re talking pop-up book, new remixes and photos –the works!
To coincide with her highly successful Aphrodite - Les Folies tour arriving in Australia next month, Warner Music Australia's gearing up to drop two special packages of Aphrodite which will hopefully see the pop diva return to the loftier end of the charts.
Minogue's eleventh studio album Aphrodite has so far yielded three singles - 'All The Lovers', 'Get Outta My Way' and 'Better Than Today' - all of which have topped the US Billboard dance charts, making this her first album to score consecutive #1 dance hits. However, back in her home country Australia, 'All The Lovers' only managed to peak at #13. The other two singles flopped disastrously outside of the Top 50.
