Gaydar Radio Interviews Kylie
Kylie Minogue did an exclusive interview this week to Gaydar Radio.
In the interview, Kylie spoke about, among other things, about how important her gay fanbase is: “Immensely important, but I’d like to include in that that it’s all fans. I just have to look out at the audience at my shows to see there are a lot of gay fans out there and in a strange way I feel like I’m home, I’m so in the bosom and it’s very comforting and it’s very exciting. It doesn’t make me lazy because it’s comfortable because a gay audience can be very opinionated as well. They still want the quality and they, along with the rest of my audience, help me to try and deliver that.
“But I would say my gay audience helped me way back when times weren’t the easiest for me by showing me so much support. It was like having an army behind me and I think that’s where the marriage happened and it’s been a love affair ever since.”
On the topic of her next album, Kylie said: “I don’t know if I would rush into doing another pop album. I’m playing with a few other ideas of something else to do, which is inspired by some of the promotion we did for Aphrodite. I did live lounge performances and acoustic performances – different interpretations of my songs and other songs. There was such a great response to that, so I might do something along those lines.”
Sounds good to me! I feel that the time has come for the princess to do something different - at least for one album. (I agree, Henry!)

Kylie will kick off her North American tour in Montreal at Bell Centre on April 28th. The tour will include stops in Boston, Washington, New York, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas.

Kylie is, and always will be. our number one pop diva here at Dolores Delargo Towers. On our tiresome journey this weekend (to and from Leicester for the funeral) every time Miss Minogue popped up on the radio, our spirits were immediately lifted! Gay icon? Hell, yeah! Jx
Yes, I think a departure from her usual sound would be a good idea for her next project - I would especially love a dark, gothic electro Kylie!
