Kylie Minogue Talks New Single, Album
By Jared Braden (jaredbraden.com)
Kylie Minogue’s most recent description of her forthcoming single has me practically salivating in anticipation. In a new interview with French newspaper Le Figaro, the Australian pop icon describes the new single as a cross between the avant-garde sound of “Slow”, the classic pop sound of “Love At First Sight”, and the modern sound of “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”
You can read the full interview with Le Figaro by clicking here, or read the section where Kylie discusses her new album and single below. I used Google translate for the article, so it’s a bit all over the place, but you’ll get the idea:
“Because I want this disc is correct. I’m curious nature, I multiplied experiments to try several things, while remaining faithful to my DNA, which could define myself as a singer of “dance pop moving and joyful.” We have the first single. All the people who listened to told me that it was undoubtedly a “Kylie song.” Let’s say it is a mix between that part avant-garde had Slow or, at least, really different from the pop then this classic side found in the Love at First Sight and its modern, contemporary, Can not Get You Out of My Head …
We pray for a new Can Get! There n ‘not so often … Yes, I think it is really a “Kylie song” whatever the definition given to it. This song fits this range is mine. Because I am a performer, I do not like being locked into a single job.”

Although Kylie released a single titled “Skirt” earlier this year, her last studio album, Aphrodite, came out in 2010. The LP featured the singles “All the Lovers,” “Get Outta My Way,” “Better Than Today” and “Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)”.
I have a really good feeling about 2014. I think Kylie is going to own it.

We 100% Agree!!! Thanks Jared :)

We can but dream of a return to form for Our Princess - "dance pop moving and joyful”, indeed... Jx
Sounds FABULOUS! Getting more excited...
very exciting!!
I. Can. Not. Wait!!!!!
Although I love all of the classics she mentioned, I was hoping for something in between "Get Outta My Way" and "Skirt". GOMW has been my #1 dance song since I first heard it.
to reference brett above: "I-can-not-wait" either. it's been so long and, i'm just dying to hear all the new stuff... surprisingly though, when kylie & laura pausini released 'Limpido', i had prepared myself to not like it at all, but i really love it now... i can't tell whether it's just kylie & laura doing all the vocals, as there are some really nuanced backing vocals towards the end of the track... if anyone knows more on that, please enlighten me.
so here's to the new album and forthcoming single... i hope that the roc nation crew haven't diluted kylie's sound too much - i'm looking forward to hearing a growth and extension of her sound, and hope that this signals a more successful foray into the u.s. market for her: she deserves it. ;o)
