LISTEN: Unreleased Studio Cuts of Kylie Minogue’s 'At The End Of The Day' and 'Love Is On The Line'
This weekend marks twenty one years since Kylie released her first Deconstruction record, Kylie Minogue – an album that features some of the pop star’s still most enduring singles, Confide In Me, Put Yourself In My Place and Where Is The Feeling.
The collection also saw the Australian singer working with production duo Brothers in Rhythm – Steve Anderson and Dave Seaman – for the first time. Of course, Anderson has gone on to become a regular contributor to Kylie’s career since then and, to celebrate the record’s anniversary, he has shared the studio recordings of two tracks that didn’t make the album’s final tracklist and have, to date, only appeared as leaked demos online.
At The End Of The Day and Love Is On The Line reportedly came about during a second phase of recording sessions for the album after the A&R team at the label dismissed a number of tracks that were initially put forward. In the end, it was the recordings from round two that made up the bulk of the final product, with only Automatic Love – albeit a reproduced version – making the cut from the first bout.
As a result, these two previously unreleased BIR-produced numbers slot very nicely in with the sophisticated, piano-driven dance and house-infused stylings that can be heard throughout the rest of the still-ruddy-excellent LP.
