WATCH: Kylie Stands Up For Cancer
Kylie Minogue has been invited as a guest for Channel 4's Stand up to Cancer live telethon which will be broadcast on October 19th, Cancer Research UK Confirms.
The unique evening will include entertainment, comedy and science from Channel 4 presenter Davina McCall, comedian Alan Carr and doctor in residence, Doctor Christian of Embarrassing Bodies.
The event will consist of the Million Pound Drop live, with celebrities competing and a special version of Alan Carr's chat show format with special celebrity sketches and live intervals between programming.
Kylie is thought to be performing on Alan Carr's show and will be joined by a raft of other celebrities including Olympian Tom Daley, the cast of The Simpsons, singers Leona Lewis, JLS and Emili Sande, the cast of The Big Bang Theory, actors Martin Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow, David Hasselhoff and Anna Friel and comedians Miranda Hart, Simon Bird, Jimmy Carr and Jack Whitehall.
Jay Hunt, Channel 4's Chief Creative Officer, said
"This will be a charity appeal unlike anything you've seen before: a uniquely Channel 4 hybrid of comedy, of entertainment, and science, which is designed to grab hold of an audience and not let it go"
"Now we are so determined to do something really special on October 19th, we have taken a rather terrifying decision and one that my scheduling team may not forgive me for We're going to stay on air for as long as the donations keep pouring in. Now that might mean that we're still sitting there as the sun comes up in the morning, but it'll take whatever it takes, and I think the cause is so important we wanted to make that sort of commitment"
