new wave hit Bette Davis Eyes.

The International Australian pop star, who is currently on the UK leg of a world tour to promote her latest album Kiss Me Once, recorded her terrific electropop version of the much-loved pop smash for the BBC Radio 2 show Sounds of the 80s.

Written by Donna Weiss and Jackie Deshannon, Bette Davis Eyes was a huge commercial success upon its release in 1981. The track reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 – a position it claimed for nine non-consecutive weeks – whilst in the UK it peaked at #10 on the singles chart. It went on to become the year’s biggest selling single in America, and picked up two Grammy Awards in 1982 for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

We hear that Kylie's version of Bette Davis Eyes (Produced by Stuart Price) will be released on the forthcoming Radio 2 compilation album Sounds of the 80s.
